Cosmetic Surgery – Copying the Celebrities

Cosmetic surgery has long been used to turn back the hands of time and to correct those little imperfections that we don't have to put up with such as asymmetrical breasts or a crooked nose, but recently cosmetic surgeons have begun to observe patients wanting to emulate their favourite celebrities to a worrying degree.

In a recent survey conducted by BAAPS (The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) it was recorded that clients have increasingly unrealistic expectations and have an obsession with looking like the celebrities they almost seem to worship. This has led to surgeons refusing to treat clients as the reasons for the client undergoing surgery are not sound and the results may not live up to the desires of the patients.

Some of the procedures patients want to undergo would not actually reap any benefits as they are not necessary in the first place. This is another reason for surgeons to turn patients down along with the possibility of health risks after looking into the related medical history.

Patients are now turning up for consultations with cosmetic surgeons and bringing along pictures of the celebrities they wish to look like. Many want to have a nose that looks exactly like the celebrity they idolise or perhaps wish to have breasts that are the same shape and size as their adored superstar.

There is of course a voluntary code of conduct for cosmetic surgeons which seeks to ensure patients with unrealistic expectations do not undergo surgery. The code instructs surgeons to explain to patients the risks, possible results and reasonable expectations of the procedure.

If you are considering cosmetic surgery procedures in the UK such as nose surgery you should seek an accredited surgeon who is registered with BAPRAS or BAAPS to ensure this plastic surgery runs smoothly.
